·          Comment on the readability of this article. 

The article looks scarier than it is. I think it was difficult to read because I had to constantly stop and study some words to get the meaning of it. I think it was article but I thought there was a little too much statistics within the sentences.

The topics were: epidemiology, clinical presentation, diagnosis, and treatments. These topics were further broke down. For example diagnosis was broke down into signs and symptoms.

·          Brief Summary:

The article describes some statistics on how many children and adolescents have depression problems. It shows what some of the signs could be. It describes different treatments. Also it describes how depression is diagnosed.

Epidemiology - is the study of the distribution and causes of disease in populations.

I didn’t realize that there were some many conditions associated with depression in children. Table 2 described them and it was diabetes and epilepsy that shocked me the most.

        BUN – blood urea nitrogen. I am guessing that this is done to test the nitrogen and urea levels in the blood.

·          Detail the strengths/weaknesses of this article.

The article is very informative. I think that it was a good article because it packed the most important information about depression into somewhat small article. That is not easy to do with all the information there is on it. I think its weakness was the way it flowed when reading it. I had to stop and study certain words or phrases, which broke up the flow. Yet if my vocabulary were larger maybe it would have flowed better.

·          How might this article be useful to you in your further studies and career?

I am sure that in respiratory therapy that some patients will have depression. The more you know the better you can handle yourself around them. Knowledge is the key to success.

·          Does the article include a list of references/citations that can be used to find more information on the topics they cover?

  Yes. The list at the end of the article would be a great place to start research if you needed it.
